Description:
Glamis Castle, situated near the village of Glamis in the area of Angus, Scotland, is a fully functional castle owned by the Bowes-Lyon family.
Most people believe the castle is owned by the British Royal Family due to Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother frequenting the castle on many, many occassions. In fact, it was her childhood home and indeed one of her daughters (Princess Margaret) was born there, but the Queen Mother was part of the Bowes-Lyon family before she married into the Royal Family.

The castle has been in the Lyon family since the 14th century.
The Bank of Scotland £10 note featured Glamis Castle on the rear from 1987 till 2017.
The castle is Category-A listed owing to its historical importance and its gardens identified as nationally-significant.
